Mokwa, Niger State – The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has extended its heartfelt condolences to the victims and families affected by the devastating flood that struck Moukwa community in Niger State.
In an official statement released on Friday, the agency expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident, which resulted in the loss of lives, destruction of property, and displacement of numerous families.
“We are deeply saddened by the destruction and human suffering caused by the flood in Moukwa. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the victims and their loved ones during this difficult time,” the statement read.
The NOA assured residents of its continued solidarity and called on relevant authorities, humanitarian organizations, and well-meaning Nigerians to intensify support efforts for the affected community.
The Agency also emphasized the need for proactive disaster preparedness, improved early warning systems, and stronger community awareness campaigns to mitigate the impact of future natural disasters.
The Moukwa flood, which occurred earlier in the week, has triggered urgent search and rescue efforts led by emergency response agencies, including the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). Relief items are currently being distributed to displaced residents.
