NRC Suspends Port Harcourt–Aba Train Services for Maintenance, to Resume September 9

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced the temporary suspension of train services along the Port Harcourt–Aba corridor for routine maintenance.

In a statement personally signed by the NRC Managing Director, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, on Friday, the corporation explained that the measure was necessary to ensure safe and efficient operations.

“Port Harcourt to Aba train services [are] suspended for routine maintenance [and] will resume regular train services on the 9th of September 2025. We regret all inconveniences,” the statement read.

The suspension, which took immediate effect, is scheduled to last four days, with normal operations expected to resume on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
