NSCDC Commandant-General Tasks Kaduna Command on Enhanced Security Operations

The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has charged the Kaduna State Command to intensify its operational strategies in response to the evolving security challenges within the state and the wider North-West region.

Dr. Audi gave the directive during his operational tour of the Kaduna Command as part of his nationwide assessment of the Corps’ operational readiness for 2025. He was received by senior officers, including the State Commandant, personnel, and representatives of sister security agencies.

In his address, the Commandant-General commended the Kaduna Command for its efforts in safeguarding lives and critical infrastructure but stressed the need for increased vigilance, intelligence-led operations, and inter-agency collaboration.

“Our presence must be felt more than ever before, particularly in a state like Kaduna which has remained central to national security discourse,” Dr. Audi stated. “I am calling on you all to redouble your efforts, show greater professionalism, and deepen synergy with other security agencies to secure our communities.”

Dr. Audi emphasized the importance of community-based intelligence gathering, noting that the Corps must strengthen its relationship with local stakeholders to improve its early warning and response systems. He further charged officers to uphold discipline, integrity, and the core values of the Corps in the discharge of their duties.

As part of the visit, Dr. Audi inspected the operational facilities of the Command, reviewed the deployment structure, and assessed the welfare of personnel. He also pledged the commitment of the Corps’ national leadership to improved logistics, capacity building, and technology-driven operations in 2025.

The Kaduna State Command has been pivotal in securing critical national assets, combating vandalism, and supporting emergency response operations. With the renewed directive from the NSCDC helmsman, the Command is expected to scale up its activities in line with national security priorities.

The operational tour forms part of a broader effort by the NSCDC leadership to align state commands with the Corps’ strategic security framework and ensure operational consistency across all formations in Nigeria.
