NUC Grants Full Accreditation to 18 Programmes at Ekiti State University

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has awarded full accreditation status to 18 postgraduate programmes offered at Ekiti State University (EKSU), following the recent accreditation exercise conducted in October and November 2023.

The accredited programmes span diverse fields including Business Administration, Science, and Education. Specifically, the programmes granted full accreditation include M.Sc. Business Administration, Master of Personnel Management, M.Sc. Accounting, M.Sc. Finance, M.Sc. Marketing, M.Sc. Industrial Chemistry, M.Sc. Biochemistry, M.Sc. Mathematics, M.Sc. Statistics, M.Sc. Environmental Management, M.Sc. Zoology, M.Sc. Plant Science and Biotechnology, M.Sc. Microbiology, M.Sc. Geology, M.Sc. Physics, M.Sc. Computer Science, M.Sc. Education Technology, and M.Sc. Guidance and Counselling.

Speaking on the accreditation, EKSU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun, expressed appreciation to the NUC for recognizing the university’s commitment to academic excellence. He also commended the university’s staff and management for their dedication toward maintaining high standards in teaching and research.

The accreditation is expected to strengthen EKSU’s academic reputation and attract more students to its postgraduate programmes, thereby enhancing the university’s contribution to Nigeria’s higher education sector.
