In his address, General Nafiu highlighted the critical role of the NYSC in fostering national unity and development. He urged corps members to uphold the values of the scheme by avoiding any form of misconduct that could tarnish its reputation. “Make good content, don’t insult anybody. Use social media to interact, entertain, and even work but always responsibly,” he advised, emphasizing the need for digital responsibility among the youth.

The Director General commended the discipline exhibited by the corps members and expressed gratitude to the Kaduna State government for its support. He also noted ongoing efforts to relocate the orientation camp to a permanent site and promised to address challenges related to camp facilities.

Highlighting the importance of the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, General Nafiu encouraged corps members to engage fully with the initiative as a pathway to self-reliance.

In closing, he reminded the corps members of their monthly allowance of ₦77,000, urging them to reciprocate by contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s socio-economic development.

The NYSC continues to play a pivotal role in promoting national integration and youth empowerment, and the Director General’s address serves as a reminder of the responsibilities that come with the privilege of serving the nation.
