NYSC Rivers Orientation Camp Rated Best Nationwide, Built by Former Governor Wike –

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam Tai, Rivers State, has been rated as the best in Nigeria, drawing widespread commendation for its state-of-the-art facilities and capacity.

The camp, which features a fully equipped 5,000-seater auditorium, was constructed under the administration of former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. It has since set a new benchmark for NYSC facilities nationwide, offering corps members a modern, secure, and conducive environment for orientation and training.

Built with contemporary infrastructure including lecture halls, hostels, sporting facilities, a medical centre, and administrative offices, the Nonwa-Gbam Tai camp is being hailed as a model that should be replicated across other states of the federation.

Officials of the NYSC and visitors from across the country have praised the quality and scale of the project, crediting former Governor Wike for prioritising youth development and national service during his tenure.

“This facility reflects a deep commitment to nation-building and youth empowerment,” an NYSC official noted during a recent inspection. “It has not only enhanced the experience of corps members in Rivers State but also set a standard for excellence.”

The recognition of the Rivers State orientation camp as the best nationwide further underscores the state’s reputation for hosting and supporting national programs with world-class infrastructure.
