The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, has called on state governors across Nigeria to rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration by fostering peace, unity, and national cohesion, irrespective of political, religious, or ethnic differences.
The revered traditional ruler made the call while addressing a delegation of government officials and stakeholders during a recent royal audience at his palace in Benin City, Edo State.
Oba Ewuare II stressed that the success of any administration depends heavily on the cooperation it receives from subnational governments and citizens. He urged governors to prioritize national interest above personal or partisan agendas.
“Leaders at all levels must work together in harmony and support the President to move the nation forward. It is through peace, unity, and collaboration that we can overcome our challenges and build a greater Nigeria,” the monarch stated.
He also appealed for renewed efforts toward security, economic stability, and the promotion of cultural values, adding that traditional institutions remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen national unity and development.
