Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, delivered a powerful address at the 2025 African Advancement Meeting (#AAM2025), themed “African Renaissance in an Era of Turbulence – Are the Lions Still on the Move?”
In his thought-provoking speech, Obasanjo reaffirmed confidence in Africa’s journey toward development, declaring that the continent’s future remains in motion—bold, proud, and unshaken, despite global economic and geopolitical headwinds.
The statesman emphasized that Africa must not lose momentum, even as it faces structural challenges, governance issues, and external shocks. “We may be in turbulent waters, but Africa’s lions are still on the move,” Obasanjo stated passionately. “Our progress is not linear, but our determination must remain unbroken.”
