Obi Cubana, the founder and CEO of the renowned Cubana Group, celebrated his golden jubilee with a heartfelt Instagram post. Dressed in striking traditional attire, he shared with his followers: “12.04.25 Happy Birthday, Obi Cubana. 50yrs! 50for50.” His wife, Ebele Iyiegbu, affectionately known as Lush Eby, also shared her birthday wishes, calling her husband “my gift” in a post accompanied by a picture of him looking regal in his attire.
The birthday festivities kicked off before the main event, with a series of performances and celebrations at the Cubana mansion. The night before the big party, Samsung Nigeria hosted an exclusive event, “The Night Before 50,” where the tech giant made a significant gesture by gifting 50 Samsung S25 smartphones to select guests, all on behalf of the birthday celebrant. The event culminated at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, where Obi Cubana was officially welcomed into his 50th year by family and friends.
The main celebration kicked off with a spiritual beginning, as Cubana hosted a Holy Communion and Thanksgiving Service on Saturday morning to honor his blessings and accomplishments. In the days leading up to his birthday, Cubana also launched an interactive campaign with Gold Bar Whiskey, titled “Golden Age with Gold Bar,” inviting artists to design a special logo to commemorate his 50th birthday. Sonia Foods joined in the generosity, donating 2,000 cartons of tomatoes, while 50 lucky individuals received dresses, bags, and wigs courtesy of the celebrant’s wife, Lush Eby.
