The Ogun State Government has sealed six companies across the state for flouting environmental regulations, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding the ecosystem and enforcing compliance among industrial operators.
In a statement released on Saturday via X (formerly Twitter), the Ogun Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) announced the closure of the affected firms, naming them as Winwin Electrical Limited, Isichei Farms Limited, Chafengei Nigeria Limited, Fortune Height Farms Limited, Loly B and DA Ventures Limited, and Adventus Nigeria Limited.
According to Farouk Tunde, Special Adviser to the Governor on OGEPA and Chairman of the Ogun State Task Force on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, the companies were sanctioned for various offences, including air pollution, illegal discharges, and disregard for prior government orders.
Winwin Electrical Limited, Isichei Farms Limited, and Chafengei Nigeria Limited, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway—were sealed over air pollution violations. Fortune Height Farms Limited, based in Odogbolu Local Government Area, was resealed after it unlawfully resumed operations despite a previous closure for discharging untreated effluent into the environment.
In Ijebu-Ode, Loly B and DA Ventures Limited, a grain cleaning company, was shut down for flouting a stop-work order issued by the agency. Adventus Nigeria Limited, operating a tube processing factory along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, was also closed for exposing workers to hazardous conditions and failing to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Isichei Farms Limited, which produces poultry feed, was further cited for violating a stop-work order, reinforcing the government’s stance against environmental negligence.
The agency emphasized that no company will be allowed to operate outside the bounds of environmental safety regulations, stressing that efforts to protect the environment will remain a top priority in Ogun State.
