Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State | August 30, 2025
Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has released 130 hectares of land along the Epe/Mojoda Expressway, Ijebu-Ode, for the construction of an Inland Dry Port, following approval by the Federal Government.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media, Tayo Mabeweje, who said the land allocation came after a request from the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola.
According to the statement, the project is expected to complement the Federal Government’s efforts to decongest Lagos ports, enhance regional trade, and position Ogun State as a logistics hub in Southwest Nigeria.
Governor Abiodun noted that the development aligns with recent milestones, including the certification of Gateway International Airport by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to commence commercial flight operations. He added that the combined projects would strengthen Ogun’s appeal for global trade, investment, and tourism.
The new inland port at Ijebu-Ode joins the previously secured Kajola Inland Dry Port in the central zone of the state, reflecting what the governor described as a strategy of balanced industrial expansion across all senatorial districts.
