With the November 8, 2025, Anambra governorship election drawing closer, influential businessman and philanthropist, Prince Arthur Eze, has thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, describing him as a leader divinely chosen to continue steering the state toward transformation and prosperity.
The endorsement was made public in a statement released on Wednesday by the Governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime. According to the release, Eze gave his backing during a courtesy visit by Governor Soludo to his Abuja residence. The oil magnate praised the governor’s performance since assuming office, stating that Soludo’s leadership reflects a divine mandate that no political force can upend.
In Eze’s words, “No individual or group can defeat Governor Soludo in the upcoming election. He is ordained by God to continue leading Anambra to greatness. I appeal to Ndi Anambra to unite and support him for the sustained development of our beloved state. Soludo has character. His name ‘Chukwuma’ means ‘God knows His plan,’ and that name perfectly mirrors his vision and purpose.”
He further stressed that the current administration has demonstrated uncommon capacity and integrity, insisting that Soludo’s efforts have laid the foundation for long-term progress. “God has destined Soludo to serve for eight years. He is doing a remarkable job and is taking Anambra to greater heights. He is uniquely equipped and qualified to lead this state,” Eze declared.
The business mogul didn’t hold back in criticising opponents of the governor’s second-term ambition, branding them as individuals lacking credibility, foresight, and genuine commitment to the state’s development. “I have unwavering confidence in the governor’s capability and leadership. The future of Anambra is in safe hands under his watch,” he added.
In response to the endorsement, Governor Soludo expressed deep appreciation for Eze’s words of encouragement and confidence in his administration. He reaffirmed his resolve to build on the progress already made and push for accelerated development across all sectors in Anambra.
“Anambra has all it takes to be a great state,” Soludo said. “There is nothing we envision for Anambra that we cannot achieve. With our rich pool of human capital and natural resources, we are determined to make our state a model for sustainable growth.”
The governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, security, infrastructural renewal, and economic diversification, assuring the people of Anambra that the best is yet to come.
As political activities intensify in the build-up to the election, Eze’s endorsement is seen as a significant boost for the governor, particularly considering the business mogul’s influence and long-standing role in the political affairs of the Southeast.
