Oluremi Tinubu Donates ₦1 Billion to Support Plateau State Attack Victims

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated the sum of ₦1 billion to victims of violent attacks in Plateau State, as part of efforts to provide relief and restore hope to displaced families and affected communities.

The announcement was made during her visit to Jos, the Plateau State capital, where she met with government officials, traditional leaders, and survivors of recent violent incidents that have claimed lives and disrupted livelihoods in several local government areas.

Senator Tinubu, visibly moved by the plight of the victims, said the donation was in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration and her commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians, especially those in vulnerable situations.

“This is a message of comfort and reassurance. You are not forgotten. The federal government stands with you, and we will continue to do all we can to bring peace and stability to Plateau State,” she said.

According to her, the ₦1 billion intervention fund will be directed towards providing food, medical care, temporary shelter, trauma counselling, and support for rebuilding lives and livelihoods. The distribution will be coordinated through relevant agencies to ensure it reaches those most in need.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang, while receiving the First Lady, expressed gratitude for her compassionate gesture, describing it as a timely and impactful intervention. He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to working closely with the federal government and security agencies to prevent further violence and foster peace.

The First Lady also urged residents to promote unity and be vigilant against elements inciting conflict. She stressed the importance of peacebuilding and inclusive dialogue in restoring long-term stability to the region.

The visit and financial support were warmly received by community members, many of whom said it brought renewed hope in the face of ongoing hardship.
