Ile-Ife, Osun State – August 13, 2025
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing former lawmaker Ayo Hulayat Omidiran as Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) and reappointing Eludayo Eluyemi as the Federal Commissioner representing Osun State.
In a statement issued on Wednesday from the Ooni’s Palace in Ile-Ife, the monarch described the appointments as a recognition of the appointees’ competence, integrity, and years of selfless service to the nation. He expressed confidence that both would bring their wealth of experience and dedication to promoting fairness, equity, and inclusivity in Nigeria’s public service structure.
President Tinubu had on Tuesday, August 12, rescinded the earlier reappointment of Dr. Muheeba Dankaka as FCC Chair, naming Omidiran in her place. Eluyemi was among commissioners retained in the reshuffled leadership of the commission.
The Ooni urged the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them and work towards strengthening national unity through their roles at the commission.
