Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has assured that the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport will meet global standards and significantly boost the state’s economic development. The governor’s commitment follows recent inspections by Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, who described the airport as “99.5% ready” for commercial operations.
Keyamo praised the airport’s world-class runway and state-of-the-art facilities, including a fire station, control tower, navigational equipment, and security systems. Preparations for non-scheduled flight operations have already commenced, with regulatory bodies like the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) calibrating landing systems.
Governor Oyebanji emphasized his administration’s dedication to delivering an international-standard airport to enhance connectivity and attract investment. The project has also garnered excitement from Ekiti residents and the diaspora, who see it as a transformative step for the state.
