Peter Obi Donates Laptops, ₦6 Million to Chibok School

Chibok, Borno State – June 12, 2025

Former presidential candidate and ex-Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, has donated ₦6 million and a set of laptops to a school in Chibok, Borno State, as part of his commitment to rebuilding education in Nigeria’s conflict-affected regions.

Obi made the donation during a visit to the community to commemorate Democracy Day and advocate for increased investment in education, especially for girls in areas impacted by insurgency. He emphasized that education is key to national development and rebuilding lives torn apart by terrorism.

The donated funds are expected to support the reconstruction and equipping of classrooms, while the laptops aim to promote digital literacy among students.

This move has been widely praised as a symbolic gesture of solidarity with the Chibok community, still recovering from the trauma of the 2014 abduction of over 270 schoolgirls by Boko Haram insurgents.
