Lagos, July 18, 2025 — As part of its statutory mandate to ensure optimal performance and adherence to administrative standards across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Monitoring Office (PMO), has commenced its 2025 inspection exercise with a strategic visit to the Lagos State Sports Commission.
Led by a high-level delegation from the PMO, the inspection team was received at the Commission’s headquarters in Lagos by key officials, including the Executive Chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Sola Aiyepeku.
The visit aimed at assessing the level of compliance with extant public service rules, evaluating the effectiveness of service delivery processes, and ensuring alignment with the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
Speaking during the visit, the leader of the PMO team, Mrs. Bukola Olatunji, reiterated the importance of the exercise in promoting accountability, transparency, and institutional efficiency across all MDAs. She commended the Commission for its achievements in sports development, particularly its recent successful hosting of the National Sports Festival and its investment in youth-centered sporting infrastructure.
In his response, Mr. Aiyepeku expressed the Commission’s commitment to upholding public service standards while advancing Lagos’ reputation as Nigeria’s leading hub for sports excellence. He noted that the Commission welcomes constructive feedback from the PMO as part of its continuous improvement drive.
