The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a suspected car thief in Port Harcourt, recovering seven master keys allegedly used to steal vehicles.
The suspect, identified as Felix Clark, was apprehended by operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit during a routine patrol on Abacha Road in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) on May 5, 2025. According to the command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, the officers became suspicious of Clark’s movement and stopped him for questioning.
A search of the suspect led to the discovery of seven different master keys. Clark was subsequently taken into custody, where he reportedly confessed to being part of a car theft syndicate operating across several states, including Delta, Edo, and Lagos.
Following his confession, the police recovered a red Hyundai Sonata vehicle with registration number EKY 531 GG at his residence. The car was previously reported stolen, and efforts are ongoing to trace and apprehend other members of the criminal network.
Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, CP Olatunji Disu, commended the officers for their vigilance and reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling crime. He urged the public to report suspicious movements and criminal activities to security agencies promptly.
The suspect is currently in custody and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
