President Tinubu Commissions Kugbo Bus Terminal, FRSC Ensures Smooth Traffic Operations

Abuja, June 28, 2025

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, officially commissioned the Kugbo Bus Terminal in the Federal Capital Territory. The event marked a significant milestone in efforts to improve public transportation infrastructure and ease commuter movement along the AYA–Nyanya corridor.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) played a critical role in ensuring order and safety throughout the high-profile event. Representing the Corps at the ceremony was SC Felix N. Theman, FNARC, of RS7.1 FCT Command.

In anticipation of the event’s traffic impact, personnel from RS7.13 Nyanya Unit Command and RS7.16 Karu Unit Command were deployed to manage vehicular flow along the AYA–Nyanya expressway and within the terminal’s vicinity.

To enhance enforcement and rapid response, the FRSC strategically deployed patrol vehicles, power bikes, an ambulance, and a heavy-duty tow truck. The tow truck proved essential in clearing a broken-down high-capacity bus that had stalled near the venue, preventing potential gridlock.

The proactive traffic control measures ensured that the commissioning proceeded without incident, highlighting the FRSC’s ongoing commitment to road safety and effective traffic management during major national events.

The new terminal is expected to improve inter-city transit efficiency, reduce congestion, and support the broader vision of President Tinubu’s administration for modern, accessible public transport systems nationwide.
