President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Barrister Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem (SAN), former Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, on his election as the new President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society Worldwide. The announcement came following a recently concluded electoral process where Kazeem, a seasoned legal luminary and prominent Islamic leader, was unanimously endorsed to lead the 102-year-old non-sectarian organization dedicated to the educational and moral advancement of Muslims in Nigeria.
In his message, President Tinubu emphasized Kazeem’s proven leadership credentials and expressed confidence in his ability to steer the society toward greater heights. The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, founded in 1923 to promote Western education alongside Islamic values, has historically championed reforms in Muslim communities, including advocating for gender-inclusive educational policies and interfaith dialogue. Kazeem succeeds Alhaji Dr. Aare Abdurofii Ademola Sanni and will work alongside newly elected executives, including Vice Presidents Alhaji Nurudeen Okunleye (Lagos) and Alhaji Jimoh Popoola (Ogun).
The President’s commendation underscores the critical role of faith-based organizations in national development, particularly in education and social cohesion. Kazeem’s appointment comes at a pivotal time as the society seeks to expand its influence in addressing contemporary challenges facing Nigerian Muslims while maintaining its founding principles of non-partisanship and reformist ideals.
