President Tinubu Mourns Veteran Administrator Fidelis Kaigama

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Fidelis Kaigama, a distinguished public servant and former Federal Permanent Secretary, who died on June 6, 2025, at the age of 84. In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the late Kaigama as a “steward of purpose” and a “beacon of fairness in administration.”

The President lauded Kaigama’s unwavering dedication to public service, noting that he rose through the ranks to become a Federal Permanent Secretary, mentoring countless individuals along the way. “He shaped minds with wisdom, guided hearts with compassion, and brought discipline and inspiration to his workplace,” President Tinubu remarked.

President Tinubu extended his condolences to the Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama, and the entire Kaigama family of Taraba State, acknowledging their loss of a beloved brother and father. He also commiserated with the Taraba State Government, emphasizing that Kaigama’s contributions to the state and the nation would be sorely missed.

The remains of the late Fidelis Kaigama have been transported to Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State, where they were received at the Danbaba Suntai Airport by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, John Kizito Bonzena. The body has been taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Jalingo, where it will be kept pending funeral arrangements.

Fidelis Kaigama’s legacy as a mentor, disciplinarian, and advocate for good governance continues to inspire generations of public servants and citizens alike. His passing marks the end of an era in Nigerian public administration.
