President Tinubu Receives Ekiti Governor Oyebanji at State House for Strategic Discussions

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Tuesday, received the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, at the State House in Abuja, where both leaders held a closed-door meeting centered on key development issues and federal collaboration in advancing the South-Western state’s priorities.

The meeting, which took place at the President’s office, is part of ongoing consultations between the Presidency and state governors aimed at fostering deeper synergy on national development, economic recovery, and grassroots impact of federal programmes.

Although official details of the discussion were not made public, reliable sources within the State House hinted that matters related to infrastructure funding, security support, and social investment initiatives in Ekiti featured prominently. Governor Oyebanji, who has continued to push for strategic partnerships to accelerate his administration’s development agenda, is also believed to have briefed the President on recent achievements and challenges facing the state.

President Tinubu, who has consistently advocated cooperative federalism, reportedly reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to support all states with the resources and institutional backing needed to uplift the lives of Nigerians.

Governor Oyebanji, speaking briefly to State House correspondents after the meeting, described his visit as productive and reassuring. “I came to brief Mr. President on the progress we are making in Ekiti and to seek federal collaboration on key projects. He gave very positive responses, and we are hopeful that the people of Ekiti will soon feel the impact of what we discussed,” the governor stated.

The visit underscores the President’s open-door policy and commitment to inclusive governance, where state leaders are encouraged to engage directly with the federal centre to drive their developmental goals.
