In a renewed effort to uplift the spiritual atmosphere at one of Islam’s holiest sites, the General Administration for the Affairs of the Noble Qur’an and its Interpretations at the Prophet’s Mosque has intensified its programme of distributing Qur’ans and translated meanings of the Holy Book to worshippers and visitors. This initiative is under the directive of the Agency for Scientific and Guidance Affairs and is being carried out with a view to improving both accessibility and religious engagement within the sacred mosque premises.
The administration, which oversees all Qur’an-related matters within the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, has taken proactive steps to ensure that worshippers, both Arabic-speaking and non-Arabic-speaking, can access copies of the Qur’an and accurate translations in several global languages. The aim is not only to facilitate deeper understanding of the divine message but also to uphold the sanctity and orderliness associated with distributing religious texts in such a revered location.
In addition to traditional hard-copy Qur’ans, special provisions have been made for digital accessibility. Digitally formatted Qur’ans are now being made available to visitors through organized channels, allowing for seamless interaction with the Holy Book via smartphones and other devices, particularly helpful for the younger generation and international pilgrims. These digital editions are made available through official QR-coded platforms within the mosque’s premises, ensuring authenticity and ease of use.
This heightened focus on Qur’anic distribution and interpretation is being carried out under the close supervision of His Excellency Sheikh Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, the President of Religious Affairs for both the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah. His leadership has been instrumental in aligning the administration’s goals with the broader vision of spreading the message of the Qur’an across the world, with an emphasis on peace, reflection, and divine guidance.
According to the checks, these efforts form part of a broader set of reforms and spiritual enhancements taking place across the Two Holy Mosques, particularly in response to the increased number of international pilgrims following the easing of travel restrictions. It reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to making the holy sites more inclusive and spiritually enriching for Muslims globally.
By focusing on inclusivity, digital innovation, and accessibility, the administration aims to reinforce the Prophet’s Mosque as not just a place of prayer, but a hub for spiritual enlightenment, cultural understanding, and religious knowledge deeply rooted in the teachings of the Qur’an.
