Religious Intolerance, A Product Of Ignorance And Fear

The National Human Rights commission (NHRC) in collaboration with KAICIID and other partners like Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NASFAT, KUKAH Centre have developed programmes and strategies that will promote freedom of religion and belief among different faithful in line with human right standards. As religious intolerance was identified as a product of ignorance and fear.

This was disclosed at a one-day grassroot sensitisation awareness workshop held on Friday, July 26, 2024 in Benin city, Edo State.

The project, called MECHANISM TO MONITOR FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND BELIEF IN NIGERIA, is being implemented by NHRC, THE KUKAH CENTER (TKC) and Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) while King Abdullah ibn Abdulaziz international center for interreligious and intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) is providing the funds for the project.

This project is being implemented by the National Human Rights commission of Nigeria (NHRC) together with selected key Organizations such as The KUKAH Centre (Christianity); Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society, NASFAT (Islam) and KAICIID.
