Remo Stars coach Daniel Ogunmodede has expressed his team’s readiness for the crucial run-in of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier League (NPFL) title. With an eight-point lead and seven games remaining, the Sky Blue Stars are poised to make history by claiming their first NPFL title.
Ogunmodede’s side strengthened their position at the top of the table with a 2-0 win over nine-time champions Enyimba on Thursday. Olamilekan Adedayo and Samson Olasupo scored in either half to secure the team’s 19th win of the season.
Remo Stars now have 60 points from 30 games, and their lead could be extended further when they play their outstanding fixture against Lobi Stars. However, their next match against second-placed Rivers United in Port Harcourt promises to be a thrilling title decider.
“We’re happy to have the three points and maintain the eight-point gap,” Ogunmodede said after the win. “As I’ve said before, the fewer games remaining, the tougher it becomes. We’ll give our all in every game, and the next match won’t be any different.”
Remo Stars are determined to break their title duck, having come close in the last two seasons, only to lose to Enyimba and Rangers International, respectively. With their sights set on glory, the Sky Blue Stars are ready to face the challenges ahead and make history in the NPFL.
