Remo Stars Maintain NPFL Lead with 2-0 Win Over Enyimba

Remo Stars consolidated their position at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League table with a convincing 2-0 victory over former champions Enyimba in Ikenne on Thursday.

Olamilekan Adedayo and Samson Olasupo scored in either half to secure Remo Stars’ 19th win of the season, maintaining their eight-point lead over second-placed Rivers United.

Adedayo opened the scoring for the hosts after 28 minutes, while Olasupo doubled the advantage in the 68th minute with his third goal of the campaign.

The win takes Remo Stars to 60 points after 30 games, and they could further extend their lead when they play their outstanding fixture against Lobi Stars.

Enyimba’s defeat sees them drop to ninth position on the log with 43 points after 31 games, halting their ambitions of securing a continental ticket.

In other NPFL matches, Akwa United moved out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Niger Tornadoes, while Plateau United edged Rangers International 1-0 to steer clear of the drop zone.
