Port Harcourt, Nigeria – September 16, 2025

Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ibas, Sole Administrator of Rivers State, stated on Tuesday that stability has been restored in the state under extraordinary circumstances. He emphasized that significant progress has been made over the past six months in maintaining peace and security.
Addressing a public lecture titled “Good Governance and Democratic Dividends” at the Government House, Port Harcourt, Ibas highlighted the successful conduct of the August 30, 2025, local government elections as a key milestone in returning democratic governance to the grassroots level. He expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their support and cooperation during his tenure.
