Royal Clarion Calls For Unity, Compassion As Eid-El-Fitr Celebration Engulfs Nation.

In a moving address that has resonated across the federation, the revered Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has called upon Nigerians to embrace the fundamental virtues of tolerance, understanding, and good neighborliness as Muslims conclude the holy month of Ramadan with Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
Speaking from his palace yesterday, the respected monarch emphasized that these virtues remain indispensable tools for national transformation and unity in our dear country.
“As we celebrate this blessed occasion, I implore all citizens to rededicate themselves not only to the Almighty but to humanity as well,” the Alaafin stated, urging Nigerians to cherish the precious gift of life while cultivating essential virtues such as tolerance and contentment.
His Royal Majesty explained that complete submission to Allah’s divine will represents true obedience, which lies at the heart of Eid-el-Fitr observances.
In these challenging economic times facing our nation, Oba Owoade made a passionate appeal for selfless love that places communal welfare above individual interests. The traditional ruler specifically called upon the more privileged members of society to extend their benevolence beyond their immediate circles, stressing that philanthropists should remember vulnerable groups including the displaced, elderly, orphans, and persons with special needs.
“The current economic situation demands that we demonstrate greater compassion and generosity toward the underprivileged among us,” the monarch advised.
This royal message echoes similar sentiments expressed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who recently emphasized the importance of unity and reflection during this sacred period, while encouraging Nigerians to uphold Ramadan’s core values of steadfastness, charity, love, and tolerance.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority has deployed 400 officers across strategic locations to ensure smooth traffic flow throughout the festivities. The state government, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, has implemented comprehensive measures to guarantee peaceful celebrations for all residents.
As jubilant celebrations unfold across the nation, these timely reminders about unity, tolerance, and compassion serve to reinforce the collective responsibility of building a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.
