Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has charged newly inaugurated local government chairmen across Lagos State to prioritise service delivery and remain committed to the promises made during their campaigns.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony in Lagos, the governor emphasised that the incoming council bosses must focus on projects and policies that directly impact grassroots development. He urged them to maintain transparency, accountability, and community engagement as guiding principles in their administration.
Sanwo-Olu highlighted the critical role of local governments in complementing state-level initiatives, particularly in infrastructure development, waste management, education, and primary healthcare. He further called on the chairmen to foster collaboration with residents and stakeholders to ensure sustainable progress in their respective councils.
The governor assured that the state government would provide necessary support but maintained that performance and results would be the true measure of their leadership.
