Senate, Governor Zulum Urge President Tinubu to Take Swift Action on Terror Threats

The Nigerian Senate and Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum have jointly called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently address the escalating terror threats across the country. Both institutions expressed concern over recent attacks by insurgent groups and emphasized the need for prompt and decisive government intervention to restore security and protect citizens.

Speaking on the Senate floor, lawmakers stressed that the safety of Nigerians must be the highest priority and urged the federal government to strengthen military operations and intelligence efforts. Senator Ahmed Lawan, Senate President, reiterated the importance of coordinated action among security agencies to dismantle terror networks and safeguard communities.

Governor Zulum, who has been at the forefront of efforts to combat Boko Haram insurgency in the Northeast, echoed the call for accelerated measures. He highlighted the continuing challenges faced by residents and stressed that sustained government commitment is essential to lasting peace in the region.

The Senate and Governor Zulum’s demands come amid increasing attacks that have threatened national stability and disrupted socio-economic activities. Both called for increased funding, improved security infrastructure, and community engagement to effectively counter terrorism.

The federal government is expected to respond swiftly to these appeals as Nigerians await comprehensive strategies to ensure their safety and the country’s security.
