SGF Approves Promotion of 18 New Assistant Corps Marshals to Strengthen FRSC Leadership

ABUJA — In a move aimed at enhancing the leadership structure of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has approved the promotion of 18 senior officers to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal (ACM).

The newly promoted officers are drawn from key departments across the Corps, including Operations, Special Duties and External Relations, Technical Services, Administration and Human Resources, and Training. The promotion is in line with the FRSC’s career progression framework and part of ongoing efforts to build a more efficient and responsive management team.

The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, congratulated the newly elevated officers and charged them to justify their promotions by upholding the highest standards of discipline, integrity, and service delivery. He emphasized that the Corps remains committed to rewarding excellence and professionalism in the discharge of duties.

Senator Akume also lauded the FRSC for its role in ensuring safer highways and reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening public institutions through strategic leadership development.

The promotion exercise comes at a time when the FRSC is stepping up efforts to reduce road traffic crashes, enforce traffic regulations, and improve road safety awareness nationwide.

The newly promoted officers are expected to assume greater responsibilities as the Corps intensifies its operations ahead of the mid-year safety campaign season.
