MAKKAH – In a major step towards enhancing the spiritual and educational journey of pilgrims, the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman AlSudais, on Wednesday evening, officially launched the second edition of the Smart Enrichment Field Awareness Center at the Grand Mosque.
The initiative, inaugurated on the 14th of Muharram 1447 AH, forms part of the operational framework set by the Presidency for the ongoing Umrah season, reflecting the Kingdom’s commitment to providing world-class services to worshippers and pilgrims.
Speaking during the launch, Sheikh AlSudais highlighted that the Smart Enrichment Field Awareness Centers are designed to elevate the experience of visitors to the Two Holy Mosques by offering religious guidance and educational content in multiple languages. This innovation, he explained, is in line with the Presidency’s broader mission to promote a deeper understanding of Islamic rituals among pilgrims from diverse cultural backgrounds.
The centers offer translated religious texts, including books on Hajj and Umrah rituals, Quranic commentary (tafsir), and collections of authentic supplications. These materials are accessible in several languages, making them a valuable resource for non-Arabic speaking visitors navigating their spiritual obligations during their time at the holy site.
The activation of the second edition of the Smart Center comes at a time when the flow of Umrah pilgrims continues to rise, with Saudi authorities stepping up digital transformation efforts across the holy sites. The awareness center combines religious enlightenment with technological innovation, serving as a bridge between tradition and modern service delivery.
The Presidency affirmed its continuous efforts to support the goals of Vision 2030 by ensuring that every visitor to the Grand Mosque receives not only comfort and security but also religious enrichment tailored to their needs.
