The Presidency of the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has officially announced that Sheikh Dr. Maher Al-Muaiqly will lead the Eid al-Adha 1446H (2025) prayer at the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah.
The announcement was made as part of preparations for the Eid celebrations, which follow the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage. Sheikh Al-Muaiqly, a renowned scholar and one of the leading Imams of the Grand Mosque, is widely respected for his deep knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence and melodious recitation of the Qur’an.
Tens of thousands of worshippers are expected to attend the Eid prayer at the Grand Mosque, while millions more across the world will tune in via live broadcast. Security, health, and administrative authorities have intensified efforts to ensure a smooth and spiritually uplifting experience for all pilgrims and worshippers.
The Eid sermon, to be delivered by Sheikh Al-Muaiqly after the prayer, is expected to focus on the virtues of sacrifice, unity, and compassion — central themes of Eid al-Adha.
Authorities have also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining crowd control, hygiene, and accessibility at the holy site, especially amid the ongoing Hajj rituals.
This year’s Eid prayer at Masjid al-Haram holds special significance as it continues the legacy of spiritual leadership and devotion associated with the sacred grounds of Islam’s holiest mosque.
