Shettima Assures Nigerians: Tinubu Administration Poised for Economic Transformation

Abuja, Nigeria | Tuesday, September 16, 2025

Vice President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to reposition Nigeria’s economy for sustainable growth and prosperity.

Speaking at a business roundtable in Abuja, Shettima declared that the government remains resolute in its reforms aimed at unlocking opportunities across multiple sectors, creating jobs, and driving inclusive development. He stressed that Nigeria is open for business, with doors wide open to both local and foreign investors willing to collaborate in the nation’s transformation agenda.

Highlighting the administration’s push for foreign direct investment, Shettima urged global firms to take advantage of Nigeria’s population strength and expanding market. Specifically addressing VISA International, the Vice President encouraged the company to use Nigeria as a strategic hub for its expansion drive across Africa, citing the nation’s youth-driven digital economy as a major advantage.

“The Tinubu government is laying the foundation for an economy that works for everyone, by investing in infrastructure, encouraging private sector participation, and ensuring policies that foster innovation and productivity,” Shettima said.

He further assured stakeholders that ongoing reforms in energy, agriculture, technology, and financial services are designed to improve competitiveness, reduce poverty, and build a resilient economy.
