SPE Lagos Seeks Collaboration with Lagos Ministry of Energy, Commissioner Pledges Support

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Lagos State Branch, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources as part of its strategic engagement to foster collaboration in the energy sector.

Led by the Lagos Section Chairperson, Mr. Oladipo Ashafa, the delegation met with the Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources to explore partnership opportunities aimed at advancing sustainable energy development in the state.

During the meeting, Mr. Ashafa emphasized the Society’s commitment to professional excellence, capacity building, and supporting government policies that drive innovation and efficiency in the energy sector. He also highlighted ongoing initiatives by SPE to engage with key stakeholders across both public and private sectors.

In response, the Honourable Commissioner expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with professional bodies like SPE. He noted that such partnerships are vital to the state’s efforts to improve energy access, encourage investment, and promote local content development.

“This Ministry is open to collaboration with professional organizations like the Society of Petroleum Engineers to harness their expertise and strengthen our collective efforts in shaping a resilient energy future for Lagos,” the Commissioner stated.
