Standard Chartered Bank Unveils Top 10 Finalists for Futuremakers Women in Tech Programme Cohort 6

Lagos, July 18, 2025 – Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited, in collaboration with Village Capital and the Enterprise Development Centre (EDC), has announced the top 10 finalists selected to progress into Cohort 6 of its Futuremakers Women in Technology (WIT) Incubator Programme.

The announcement marks a significant step forward in the bank’s ongoing commitment to fostering gender inclusion and digital innovation through support for female-led technology startups in Nigeria.

According to the organisers, the selected finalists emerged after a rigorous screening process and will now undergo a series of training sessions, mentoring, and capacity-building initiatives designed to accelerate their entrepreneurial journeys. The programme also aims to equip them with the tools required to build scalable and investment-ready ventures that can tackle pressing socio-economic issues using technology.

Speaking on the development, the Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand and Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, Dayo Aderugbo, said, “Our mission through this initiative is to bridge the gender gap in technology and empower women with the resources to lead successful enterprises that can transform communities and contribute meaningfully to the economy.”

Since its inception, the Women in Technology Incubator has provided funding, mentorship, and strategic guidance to over 50 women-led tech businesses across Nigeria, many of which have gone on to scale their operations both locally and globally.

The top 10 selected startups will compete for seed funding and other strategic support as they progress through the incubator over the coming months.
