Global satellite internet provider, Starlink, has officially launched its services in Qatar, further deepening its presence in the Gulf region and marking a significant milestone in the country’s drive for enhanced digital connectivity.
The announcement, which was confirmed by the company on its official platforms, means that residents and businesses across Qatar can now access high-speed, low-latency internet powered by SpaceX’s network of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites.
This development positions Qatar among the growing list of countries in the Middle East benefiting from Starlink’s cutting-edge satellite broadband services, especially in areas where traditional terrestrial internet infrastructure remains limited or less reliable.
With its availability, Starlink is expected to support Qatar’s smart city initiatives, digital transformation goals, and rural internet expansion by offering reliable connectivity to remote areas. The service is also anticipated to boost various sectors including education, healthcare, transportation, and finance by bridging connectivity gaps.
Starlink’s rollout in Qatar aligns with the broader vision of enhancing access to fast and secure internet as part of the country’s national ICT strategy under Qatar National Vision 2030.
