TCN Announces Five-Hour Maintenance on Suleja Substation, Power Outages Expected.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned five-hour maintenance exercise on its Suleja substation, which will result in power outages across several areas serviced by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC).

In a statement released to the public, TCN disclosed that there will be a maintenance service , is necessary to replace a faulty circuit breaker. This essential work is aimed at ensuring the continued stability and reliability of the power transmission network.

The Suleja substation is a critical hub in the national grid, supplying electricity to a wide region. Consequently, the planned maintenance will impact numerous communities within the AEDC franchise.

“We wish to inform the general public, particularly electricity consumers served by AEDC, that there will be a five-hour interruption of power supply on [Insert Date], due to planned maintenance on our Suleja substation,” the TCN statement read. “This maintenance is crucial for the replacement of a circuit breaker, which will enhance the reliability of our transmission network.”

Areas expected to experience power outages during the maintenance period include:

  • Gwagwalada
  • Abaji
  • Kwali
  • And surrounding communities.

TCN has urged residents and businesses in these areas to take necessary precautions and prepare for the temporary power disruption.

“We understand the inconvenience this may cause, and we sincerely apologize for any disruption to your daily activities,” the TCN statement continued. “However, this maintenance is vital to ensure the long-term stability and efficiency of the power supply.”

The company assured the public that its engineers will work diligently to complete the maintenance within the stipulated timeframe, and that power supply will be restored as soon as the work is concluded.
