Tech Firms Unveil Innovative App to Curb Student-Management Crisis at Admiralty University

In a move aimed at addressing student-management communication gaps in Nigerian universities, INFINIX Tech Cloud Limited (ITC), in collaboration with Enluka Consultancy Services, has launched a digital application designed to manage and resolve student-related crises at Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Ibusa, Delta State.

The innovative platform was unveiled during a workshop held on the university campus, themed “Building a Digital Information Ecosystem for Effective University Management and Public Relations.” The event was organised in partnership with the university’s Information, Communication and Protocol (ICP) Unit and brought together academic staff, administrative heads, and tech professionals.

Chief Technology Officer of INFINIX Tech Cloud and Enluka Consultancy, Mr. Taiwo Akinosho, said the newly developed student information management system is engineered to facilitate seamless communication between students and university management, reducing the likelihood of tension or unresolved grievances within the institution.

Akinosho emphasized that student issues often escalate due to the absence of a structured channel to relay concerns to the appropriate quarters. He noted that the new app allows students to report issues, lodge complaints, and receive feedback from management in real time—ideally within 30 minutes to 24 hours—thereby preventing communication breakdowns that could snowball into larger conflicts.

“We’ve observed a communication gap that often exists in our academic institutions. Unlike what is obtainable in developed countries, where technology is used to bridge such gaps, students here sometimes go unheard because their issues never get to the right desk. This app seeks to change that narrative,” Akinosho said.

The Vice Chancellor of ADUN, Professor Christopher Ogbogbo, described the initiative as timely and transformative. Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Rear Admiral Mohammed Abdullahi (Rtd), the VC commended the developers and organisers for delivering such a resourceful workshop at minimal cost to the institution. He urged all participants to absorb the knowledge shared, noting that continuous learning is essential in today’s fast-evolving academic landscape.

Earlier in his remarks, the university’s Information and Protocol Officer, Mr. Kotor Esiri, highlighted the critical role of information management, communication, and protocol in running a 21st-century academic institution. He stressed that efficient information flow not only enhances university administration but also fosters a harmonious learning environment for students and staff.

With the successful introduction of the app, stakeholders expressed optimism that other universities across the country would soon adopt similar digital tools to improve governance, transparency, and student welfare in tertiary institutions.
