Tems to Shine Alongside Doja Cat and J Balvin in First-Ever Club World Cup Halftime Show

Global music fans are in for a treat as Nigerian singer Tems joins American rapper Doja Cat and Colombian superstar J Balvin to headline the inaugural halftime performance at the FIFA Club World Cup final. The event, set for July 13 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, marks a historic moment, the first full-scale halftime show in a FIFA competition  .

Curated by Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin and partnered with the international nonprofit Global Citizen, the show aims not only to entertain but also to support a deeper cause: raising funds for the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, with an ambitious $100 million target to enhance global access to quality education  .

Taking place during the grand finale of a newly expanded competition featuring 32 club teams, the show will stream live on DAZN. The tournament kicks off June 14 in Miami, with the final showdown scheduled for July 13  .

This FIFA move follows the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football’s initiative to emulate Super Bowl entertainment style. With talents representing hip-hop, reggaeton, and Afrobeats, the lineup underscores FIFA’s goal to fuse football and global music cultures while advancing social impact through a powerful fundraising platform  .

For Tems, already a Grammy-winning icon and a driving force in the global Afrobeats movement, this billing at a FIFA halftime show represents a major milestone, cementing her role as a bridge between African artistry and international entertainment stage.
