Tinubu Administration Commissions Strategic Road Project in Gwagwalada, FCT

Gwagwalada, FCT — July 4, 2025

In a significant move to boost infrastructure and enhance economic activities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, today commissioned the newly rehabilitated Aguma Palace, Radio Nigeria, New Market Road project in Gwagwalada Area Council.

The rehabilitated road, which links Aguma Palace to the New Market axis via the Radio Nigeria Junction, is a major infrastructure upgrade aimed at easing traffic congestion, improving accessibility, and fostering commercial development across the region.

Speaking at the event, Vice President Shettima reiterated the administration’s commitment to infrastructural renewal and economic inclusion under the Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that the road project demonstrates the federal government’s responsiveness to local needs and its strategic vision for national growth.

“This road is more than just asphalt. It is a lifeline for communities, businesses, and commuters who depend on reliable transport to connect with markets, schools, and healthcare,” Shettima stated.

Residents and traders in the area lauded the project, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that will significantly reduce travel time and enhance socio-economic activities in the Gwagwalada corridor.

The commissioning is one of several ongoing infrastructure projects being executed by the Tinubu-led administration across the country, aimed at driving inclusive growth and enhancing public service delivery.
