The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced that President Bola Tinubu has earmarked N25 billion for healthcare projects in the 2025 FCT capital budget, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to improving health infrastructure in the territory.
Wike made the disclosure on Thursday in Abuja while inaugurating the construction of Arterial Road N1, linking Wuye District to Ring Road II. He stressed that the health sector funding underscores Tinubu’s resolve to deliver critical services that directly impact residents’ wellbeing.
The minister also dismissed threats of planned protests across sectors in the FCT, describing them as unnecessary given the government’s ongoing investments in infrastructure, healthcare, and public services. He assured residents that the funds will be judiciously used to provide modern health facilities that will cater to the growing population of the capital city.
According to him, the administration is prioritising projects that will improve quality of life, enhance economic activities, and strengthen Abuja’s position as a model city.
The announcement comes amid broader infrastructure expansion projects in the FCT, with Wike emphasizing that both health and road development remain central to the government’s vision for sustainable urban growth.
