President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new members to the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), reinforcing the administration’s commitment to strengthening local content in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.

Enhancing Local Content Development These appointments are aimed at filling existing vacancies in the council, ensuring the board remains fully functional and effective in driving local content policies.
The NCDMB Governing Council was established under Section 69 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, 2010. It is made up of representatives from several key institutions, including the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), PETAN, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), NCCF, and NAICOM.
President Tinubu has urged the new members to bring their expertise and dedication to advancing local participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. The appointments align with the government’s broader strategy of promoting indigenous capacity building and economic growth within the industry.
