Lagos, Nigeria — August 16, 2025 | President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commenced a three-nation diplomatic tour, beginning with Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in a move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s foreign relations and attracting high-value investments.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the visit is part of the administration’s strategic push to deepen economic cooperation, expand trade opportunities, and position Nigeria as a competitive player in the global economy.
While in Dubai, President Tinubu is scheduled to hold high-level talks with UAE government officials, business executives, and investors. Discussions are expected to centre on trade facilitation, infrastructure development, energy projects, and technological innovation.
From Dubai, the President will proceed to Japan for engagements with government leaders and corporate stakeholders, focusing on industrial development, technology transfer, and innovation partnerships. The final leg of the tour will take him to Brazil, where talks will highlight agricultural cooperation, cultural exchange, and bilateral trade expansion.
Presidency sources indicate that multiple memoranda of understanding are expected to be signed during the tour, formalising agreements that could unlock billions in potential investments.
Foreign policy analysts say the trip reflects a proactive diplomatic strategy, noting that high-level engagement with diverse economies could enhance Nigeria’s global influence and create long-term economic benefits.
