Tinubu Stays Calm as Man Breaches Security During Kaduna Visit

Kaduna, June 19, 2025 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu demonstrated composure and authority during a brief security breach in Kaduna State on Wednesday, when an unidentified man suddenly attempted to approach him while he was addressing a gathering at an official event.

The incident occurred during the commissioning of critical infrastructure projects by the Kaduna State Government. As the President delivered his remarks, the man managed to bypass security and made a move toward the podium, prompting immediate response from members of the presidential guard.

In a calm but firm reaction, President Tinubu instructed his security detail, “Leave him alone,” defusing the situation without panic and continuing his speech unshaken. The President’s decision not to escalate the moment was met with praise from many in attendance, who commended his restraint and leadership.

The incident, though brief, drew attention both at the event and across social media platforms. The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Digital/New Media, Otega Ogra, later confirmed that the situation was handled professionally and posed no threat. He noted that the President remained undisturbed and the programme continued without disruption.

President Tinubu was in Kaduna to commission several major projects, including a 300-bed specialist hospital and the rollout of compressed natural gas (CNG) buses, among other developmental initiatives by the administration of Governor Uba Sani. The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and members of the public.

Observers have hailed Tinubu’s response as an example of dignified leadership, noting that his ability to stay composed in unexpected situations sends a reassuring message to the public.
