Abuja, August 27, 2025 — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to driving national development through technology and food security, urging Nigerians to draw lessons from Brazil’s transformation into a global powerhouse.
Speaking during an engagement with stakeholders, the President reflected on Nigeria’s potential, stressing that the nation has the resources and human capital to compete with its peers.
“Once upon a time, Nigeria and Brazil stood on the same level. Look at Brazil today—its technology, its food systems. We must ask ourselves: what do they have that we don’t?” Tinubu asked. “We have the brains, the energy, and the youth. We have everything we need. Now, we must act.”
He praised the vibrant Nigerian diaspora community for their contributions to innovation, knowledge transfer, and investment opportunities that continue to support the country’s growth. The President assured that his government will continue to create an enabling environment for technology adoption, agribusiness development, and youth empowerment.
Tinubu emphasized that achieving food security remains central to the Renewed Hope Agenda, noting that technology-driven farming, processing, and distribution will play a crucial role in boosting productivity and reducing reliance on imports.
Stakeholders present described the President’s remarks as a call to action, highlighting the urgency of bridging gaps in infrastructure, research, and investment to unlock Nigeria’s full potential in agriculture and technology.
