Tinubu’s Legacy: A Favorable Judgment by History –

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, expressed optimism on Thursday that history will judge President Bola Tinubu favorably. He noted that the country has crossed a critical threshold, and the pains of reform are gradually easing.

Idris highlighted the current reduction in food prices and stability in exchange rates as evidence that President Tinubu’s reforms are yielding positive results. Speaking at the Ministerial Press Briefing, which featured the Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, and the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace, Festus Keyamo, Idris emphasized the positive impact of these reforms.

Also present at the briefing were Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, and Mr. Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Public Communication and Orientation.

Idris assured Nigerians that President Tinubu is leading the nation with a deep sense of divine responsibility and a conviction that history will judge his administration favorably. He pointed out that meaningful reforms are never easy and require sacrifice, resilience, and a commitment to long-term progress.

The minister appealed to religious leaders to use the sacred periods of Ramadan and Lent to pray for the peace, security, and progress of the country. He stated, “We have crossed the Rubicon, and the pains are gradually easing as the positive impact of these reforms begins to manifest. Already, we are witnessing a marked reduction in food prices, stability in exchange rates, and a gradual decline in the cost of petroleum products, which are clear indicators that the reforms are yielding positive results.”

Idris further emphasized that the country stands at a critical juncture as President Tinubu implements bold and transformative reforms to lay the foundation for a new Nigeria. He acknowledged the patience, perseverance, and unwavering belief of Nigerians in the President’s vision.

He urged Muslim and Christian leaders, particularly during this period of fasting and reflection, to continue to pray for Nigeria’s success. With unity, faith, and collective effort, Idris believes the nation will emerge stronger, more resilient, and positioned for lasting prosperity.
