UNILAG Dismisses Claims of Technical Glitch in POST-UTME Malpractice Alerts

Lagos, Nigeria – September 11, 2025

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has dismissed reports suggesting that technical glitches were responsible for malpractice alerts issued during its 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the university clarified that the malpractice notifications were based on verifiable evidence of infractions recorded during the online screening held between September 1 and 4, 2025, and not due to system faults.
UNILAG reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on examination malpractice, warning that candidates found guilty will not be offered admission. The institution emphasized that its systems functioned effectively and that all flagged cases involved genuine breaches of examination guidelines.
The clarification followed speculation among some candidates that the malpractice messages were triggered by errors in the online platform. UNILAG insisted that its integrity measures remained robust, assuring the public of a fair and transparent admission process.
