UNILAG Releases 2025/2026 School Fees for New and Returning Students

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has officially announced its adjusted schedule of obligatory fees for the 2025/2026 academic session, covering both fresh and returning undergraduate students. The revised fee structure reflects slight adjustments based on the academic demands of different programmes, particularly those with laboratory or studio requirements.

For newly admitted students, the fees range between ₦126,325 and ₦176,300, depending on the nature of the course. Those offering programmes without laboratory or studio components are to pay ₦126,325, while those enrolled in courses with such components will pay ₦176,300.

Returning students are expected to pay between ₦100,750 and ₦140,250. However, medical students have a distinct fee structure pegged at ₦190,250 due to the extensive laboratory, clinical, and practical requirements of their training.

In addition to the base fees, all undergraduate students are to pay a mandatory utility fee of ₦20,000. Final-year students are also required to pay a convocation fee of ₦30,000 as part of graduation obligations. Furthermore, a toxicology test fee of ₦10,000 applies to all undergraduates.

The university emphasized that tuition remains free in compliance with federal government policies for public universities. The outlined charges, according to the management, are obligatory service fees covering registration, examination, medicals, sports, library services, information technology, entrepreneurship training, Tertiary Institutions Students Health Insurance Programme (TISHIP), laboratory and studio use (where applicable), and other academic support services.

UNILAG authorities assured students and parents that the adjusted fee structure is aimed at enhancing service delivery and sustaining the quality of academic programmes. They also advised all students to ensure prompt payment to avoid disruptions during the academic year.

The 2025/2026 academic session is expected to commence in the coming months, and prospective students have been urged to consult the university’s official website for more details on departmental requirements and payment procedures.
