Vice President Kashim Shettima has departed Daura, Katsina State, for Abuja after successfully representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the solemn third-day prayer held in honour of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The prayer session, which is a key Islamic rite, marked a continuation of national mourning following Buhari’s recent passing in London. Vice President Shettima had earlier accompanied the body back to Nigeria and oversaw the burial ceremonies as directed by President Tinubu.
With hands clasped in gratitude and solemn reverence, Shettima’s presence throughout the funeral proceedings underscored his deep loyalty and unwavering service to the Commander-in-Chief and the nation.
The Vice President is expected to return to the Federal Capital Territory in time for a special Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting scheduled in Abuja to further honour the legacy of the late Nigerian leader.
